Coursework and Preparation Programs You'll Need:

You'll need a Bachelor's Degree before you can teach in Connecticut schools. Required coursework is specific to the areas being taught. For elementary education, you’ll need 30 hours of courses in elementary education, six hours in language arts, and six hours in childhood development. For middle school, you’ll need 12 hours in education and 15 hours in the subject area being taught. For secondary school, you’ll  need 30 hours in the subject being taught.
